my love affair with the water

Iligan City is blessed with fresh water swimming pools that is open to the public. The pools are located in Timoga, Buru-un. This morning we brought our little girl to Marvillas to ease her growing tension caused by the scorching heat. Voila!  for an entrance fee of P50.00, our bodies are refreshed. Imagine swimming in your cold drinking water.

Unlike other stagnant pools, the water in Timoga is flowing so it stays clean and refreshing.

Swimming with the dolphins at Aquamarine Park, Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental.

Manong ( the man feeding the dolphins) informed us that these are actually native dolphins. They cannot be trained.

 It seemed so surreal that we are actually able to swim with these friendly dolphins. I wanted to try feeding them but I'm afraid their incisors will actually scratch my hand.  Aquamarine Park at Sinacaban is not too crowded in January :-) My Yanni and I were the only ones swimming with the dolphins...

When Couples Are No Longer A Couple

Working at the office opened a new window for me --- reality.

Having lived a sheltered life, I was not exposed to family related violence. Home was a happy place.

For almost two years now, I have been facing the painful reality that many couple nowadays constantly fight at the court room. I find it excruciating that children has to testify against their own father or mother in a criminal case. It is even more alarming that crimes against women and children is a top grosser.

For awhile, I had a hard time emphatizing with the victims. Not that I need to. But to better defend their cause, I had to at least have a better grasp of their world.

Yesterday, I was able to talk to another couple. The root cause of their conflict is of course---MONEY. They started fighting when they cannot support their five children anymore. Both of them are unemployed. Their eldest was put to bars for robbery.

Really, reality bites.

To lighten up my mood after an emotional day, I would sit beside the pond and just stare at our Japanese kois. They never ceased to amaze me each time. How did they acquire this magnificent pattern? The wonders of creation.

Kois are low maintenance pets. They are friendly, can be tamed, and does not require a regular regimen except of course cleaning the pond once in awhile.

These Japanese kois captured the heart of my husband many years ago. They are my tough competitor when it comes to his attention.

Now I understand why.

I am finally seeing my flowers bloom.

Every morning, the sight of my flowering plants nourishes my soul. It is a form of a prayer for me. It reminds me all the time to thank God for these harmless living things that coexist with us.
These ordinary plants makes life extraordinary. Truly.
